Jailbreak RPG ‘Toada Brava’ Kickstarter Campaign Gets a Deadline Extension

Brazilian development team Asteristic Game Studio is currrently doing a Kickstarter campaign for their RPG Toada Brava. The game’s crowdfunding now has about 10 days to get an additional 10,000 dollars out of their US$ 35,000 goal in the All-or-nothing format.

Inspired by classics of the genre like Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG and Vagrant Story, Toada Brava is a 2D active turn-based RPG. There are timing mechanics to combat and turns have an active element to them akin to the classic Final Fantasy games from the Super Nintendo and PlayStation 1 eras.

The story follows Kako, a young monkey living in the Alvorada Sierras. After his mother was unjustly imprisoned by the Duke of Santacrúz, he sees himself locked in a cell in a labour prison controlled by military forces.

It’s up to Kako to find new friends and make a crew that can face this threat by his side. His companions will include a maned wolf called Madalena and the bohemian musician Romeu as well as a variety of Buddies with unique effects.

If the campaign manages to reach the goal, the developer plans to release Toada Brava on PC through Steam. Multiple stretch goals with extra features are also described in the campaign.

People interested in helping Toada Brava come to life can make a pledge until November 13, 2026 at 11 AM PT/2 PM ET. A demo is also available on Steam with English and Brazilian Portuguese language options.
