Tianji: Shadow of the Ancients releases for PC Steam, PS5, and Switch 1&2

Justdan has revealed a new RPG titled Tianji: Shadow of the Ancients. The game will tell a story taking place in Tang Dynasty-era China. It will be available worldwide for Nintendo Switch 1&2, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam in 2027.

This game is so far slated to have full language support with voiceovers in Chinese and Japanese—for Chinese, it will feature Simplified and Traditional text choices with voiceovers in Mandarin. English subtitle support will also be available.

During the Tianbao era of the Tang Dynasty, unrest stirs in Bashu.

As amnesiac Tianji Guard soldier Shangguan Shuo, set out with a fish token and strange mask as clues to uncover his past.

Through his journey, Shangguan Shuo gradually uncovers a hidden scheme tied to his past and witnesses the awakening of a millennium-old city.

Built upon classic RPG gameplay, combo chains sit at the heart of combat, delivering both satisfying impact and strategic depth.

Exploit enemy weaknesses, render foes vulnerable, and trigger Pursuit Skills while combining skills, equipment, and Core effects to fight in your own style and rhythm.

Dynamic Exploration and World Interaction

Traverse the world through climbing, swimming, and environmental puzzles.

In towns, switch between day and night to discover events, obtainable items, and NPC interactions that change dramatically with the time of day.

Deep Character Progression

Each companion has their own unique skill, allowing them to cook, refine equipment, upgrade Cores, and trade rare items.

As their personal side stories unfold, these skills will continue to develop.
