Idea Factory International has announced that Compile Heart-developed action RPG Villion: Code will launch in the West in 2027 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The game previously launched in Japan on June 25, 2026.

Physical editions are also planned. North America will receive physical releases for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, while Europe will receive a physical PlayStation 5 edition.

Villion: Code is produced by Kouji “Cozy” Okada. Its staff also includes artist Ilya Kuvshinov, scenario writer Tadashi Satomi, and composer Tsukasa Masuko.

The story takes place in the near future at the Adhvan Resilience School, an institution established as humanity faces an approaching calamity. The situation deteriorates after creatures known as GEMs begin attacking. Adhvan City is then sealed inside a bubble, trapping its inhabitants.

Players explore Adhvan City alongside the Sankhara Space Time, a series of randomly generated 360-degree tube-shaped dungeons based on Buddhism’s Ten Evils. These areas contain GEM encounters, environmental obstacles, and other challenges.

Combat uses Genome Arms, mutated weapons with different attack properties. Players can switch between melee and ranged attacks during combat and chain them together into combos.

Character progression revolves around Genome Cubes. Ampules collected from dungeons can be used to synthesize these cubes, while EX Factors obtained through exploration and shops can improve base stats, provide additional bonuses, and grant passive skills.
